The ball has dropped in Times Square, remnants of Christmas Trees are at the curb, and the holiday decorations are being boxed up. What else is it time for? Writing your 2022 goals and objectives of course! If you have not written goals before, there are several posts related to just that here on the blog that you might find helpful. You might want to check out the following:
You can find a user’s manual for goal setting HERE
You can find samples of goals HERE and HERE
You can find commentary on new year’s resolutions HERE
And you can find more recent comments on how to base your goals on your values HERE
If you have experience writing goals, here are a few quick reminders:
- WRITE THEM DOWN and keep them where you can see them!
- Use a mix of outcome, performance and process goals
- Remember the acronym SMART! Keep your goals:
- Specific
- Measurable
- Achievable
- Realistic
- Time based
- Make sure they are relevant to you and reflect your values and what you really want to accomplish!
- Make them a living document – review and revise as necessary as conditions change.
Now it’s time for me to put the final touches on my own goals for the new year! I wish everyone the best in 2022!
