What Does Your Mental Game Look Like?

Today’s post is number 62!  Taking a look back we have covered a lot of territory.

Looking through the posts, they can be grouped into roughly 10 categories as follows:

  1. Goal Setting
  2. Self-talk
  3. Visualization
  4. Stress Management / Emotional Regulation
  5. Mindfulness / Meditation / Focus
  6. Confidence
  7. Fitness / Eye Training
  8. Performance Logging
  9. Self-image
  10. Pre-shot Planning

So… which techniques have you implemented in your own personal mental game?  If someone were to ask you what your mental game looked like, how would you respond?    Previous blog posts have mentioned how some of the techniques have been implemented ranging from very high-profile shooters such as Brian DeMott, Grace Callahan, Dustin Crittenden, and Mitch Hines to those of us that are still climbing the ranks such as Dave and Susan Coffman, Doug Parsons, Grant O’Neal and Randy Donovan.

It really makes my day when I hear from a reader who has successfully implemented some of the mental skills discussed here on the blog. I would love to feature the real-life experiences of other readers who have created their own mental games using tips from the blog or other sources in future blog posts.

For those that have not clearly defined their own mental game. I would suggest you go back and read some of the old posts in the categories that are of interest to you.  The search box on the blog is actually rather good as are the category links.  Just clicking on a category found in the “Categories – find all posts for a category” box found on every blog post will take you to a summary of each post in that category.  It is a quick and easy way to find content that may help you on your path to developing your own personalized mental came plan!

For those that do have a defined mental game, how do you practice it?  How do you know it is working for you?
